Kathmandu: In a deluge that commenced last night, the Kathmandu Valley is grappling with extensive inundation across multiple regions. Preliminary reports highlight the severe impact on Dhungedhara, Gaurighat, Guheshwori, Kapan, Samakhushi, Anamnagar, and various other localities due to the incessant downpour. Notably, Senior Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki has disclosed that heavy rainfall has led to the submersion of several areas within the valley, with a particular focus on the vicinities adjacent to the Bagmati and Manohara Rivers.

Law enforcement has sprung into action, with police teams actively engaging in frequent patrols and public announcements. The primary objective is to disseminate vital safety guidelines to individuals inhabiting high-risk zones. The significance of staying vigilant and adopting precautionary measures near these rivers has been underscored by the authorities, given the elevated water levels anticipated to persist until 11:00 am. The Weather Forecasting Division's stern advisory emphasizes caution around rivers like Bishnumati, Dhobikhola, Bagmati, and Manohara.

The repercussions of these inundations have cast a shadow on daily life, leading to disruptions owing to waterlogged thoroughfares and inundated educational institutions. The impact of this intense downpour reverberates strongly in regions like Budhanilakantha, Sundarijal, and Nagarkot, where torrents of rainwater have caused rivers and streams to swell significantly.

Acknowledging the heightened risk of floods and inundation, the police have undertaken strategic deployments to key locations. These proactive measures aim to amplify public awareness and ensure citizen safety during this challenging natural phenomenon. Senior Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki accentuated the gravity of these initiatives, underscoring their pivotal role in safeguarding lives amidst this tumultuous period of heightened natural instability.

As the Kathmandu Valley grapples with the aftermath of relentless rainfall, authorities remain vigilant, fostering a united front against the potential perils brought about by the unforgiving weather conditions. With the community's cooperation and the concerted efforts of law enforcement, citizens are urged to navigate this testing period with heightened caution and collective resilience.
